Former Bangladesh national selector and left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak has resigned from his post to pursue a director role in the upcoming Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) elections. Razzak, who played 13 Tests and holds the third-highest ODI wicket tally for Bangladesh, officially collected his nomination papers on October 6 to stand for the Khulna division. He explained that after serving the national team for 14 years as a player and over four years as a selector since 2021, he believes it is the right time to step down and seek a larger role in contributing to cricket. The BCB elections will see 61 candidates contest for 23 director positions, from which the new BCB president will be elected for a four-year term, with incumbent Aminul Islam and Tamim Iqbal also contesting for the top post.
